A new standard for fire-activated oxygen shut-off devices that stop the flow of oxygen in respiratory therapy tubing when activated by fire (aka thermal fuses) has been published by ISO (the International Organization for Standardization).
The new standard (ISO standard 19211) specifies performance and safety requirements for fire activated oxygen shut-off devices. It has been in development for some time, but its publication is an important milestone in ensuring operating characteristics of the device.
Details of the new standard can be found here.
